Anne’s Summary

Its time for me to sum up my 8 week celebrity slim challenge, yep at the start it was tough, but now I am really into it and it had been an incredible journey for me, I have gone from being a size 18 top and bottom to as of this weekend a size 10/12 top and a 12 bottom, how amazing is that? I truly am a new person; I went to try on some new cloths this weekend as I couldn’t believe it was me in the mirror, how could it be me?

So I have had my 8th weigh in and this week I have lost another 5lb, so the grand total for my Celebrity slim eight week challenge is 3 stone or 42lb and 26.5 cm from my waist. When I started this challenge my BMI was obese now it’s just in the healthy range, it is really satisfying, to see that and know that I’m now the healthy mum I wanted to be for my boys. I now have to take this forward and continue to eat healthy and continue my swimming to stay fit, in shape and happy.

Thank you to my Mum and Dad, they have been keeping me supplied with my yummy salads, and to say well done to them as well, they have both also lost lots of weight while I have been on the challenge to support me, we have all kept each other going.

I also have to say thank you to everybody that has encouraged and supported me through this, and I promise I won’t put the weight back on !!!!!

Week 8

Well it’s getting so close to the end, and I’m still going strong, I have had testing days while the boys have been on school holidays, we’ve had days out when they have had a takeaway and I just sat and watched them eating burgers while I had a diet coke, must say I did enjoy that though as it was normal diet coke not the caffeine free that I’ve been drinking at home.

So what’s happened this week, well the big news is I was able to go out and buy size 12 jeans…..which has to be a miracle, I was shocked enough when I got down to the 14, but now a 12 still can’t quite take it in!!

In my last blog I mentioned my friend sue who was just about to start the Celebrity slim diet, well she did start it and so did her daughter, they went long to the local Rowlands pharmacy got weighed and stocked up, I have just had a text to say Sue has lost 7 lb in her first week, she’s so pleased, I’m really looking forward to seeing her go through the journey I have, it’s fantastic.

I was going through some photo’s and found one of myself taken last summer I was totally amazed I look so different, I have printed off a before and after photo on one peace of paper and am going to keep it with me to remind myself I must bee good, I have put one in my work diary, so while I’m out and about I don’t stray and one at home in the kitchen. I will NOT go back to my old eating habits !!!

My job as a medicines management Technician involves me visiting lots of different Dr’s practices, and I would just like to thank all the Dr’s and practice staff for all the support and encouragement they have given me over the last 7 weeks, it has really helped me…Thank you, also good luck with the celebrity slim for those of you who are now using it as well, I’ll be keeping an eye on you.

This week I’m off to get some new contact lenses, I really hope I can wear them as I hate wearing glasses so much I so want to get rid of my glass’s so fingers crossed by my final blog I’ll be sorted ready for the new me.

This weeks weight loss is a huge 5 lb this is a lot so far in, not sure what I have done different, maybe it’s having the boys off school, lots of extra walks to the park. My total loss is 2 stone 9lb; will I get to 3 stone by next Monday????

Oh and thank you to those who are leaving lovely comments on this blog, even my sneaky sons have been on, and yes you’ll get your Chinese very soon !!!!

Week 7

Ok so last week I lost 4 lb and hit my 2 stone milestone, which I am ecstatic about, I was hoping to do this over the 8 weeks but have managed it with a few weeks of the plan to go.

So this week is just a normal week for me, work, the boys all of school, so I’ve carried on the diet as before, with my shake for breakfast, lunch and my main healthy meal at tea time.

As you know from my previous blog  I have my membership for the local pool, and I am going five to six times a week, I normally swim 40 to 45 lengths each time, its amazing my how much I have changed my life and myself in the last 6 weeks, I have gone from a size 18 to a size 14 which are also starting to get loose, so maybe in these last few weeks I might get down to a 12, that would be a miracle for me, a dream come true, I never thought it was possible so this week I cleared out my wardrobe, all the size 18’ and 16’ have gone, trouble is all I have left is one pair of black trousers, two pairs of jeans and a few tops, I think I’ going to have to go shopping ! But I plan to loose another stone at least so will I get to a 12?????

Now In my application I spoke about another reason for this diet, but I asked the people at celebrity slim to leave it out, but now I feel it is an important issue in my life that contributed to my over eating that I should explain, because I would love other people in my situation to read it and maybe they could change themselves as well, so here goes…….. I have four boys but two of them have forms of Autism, and so this tends to make my life fairly stressful dealing with challenging behaviour and many other problems, also numerous Dr/Hospital appointments,  now before I started this diet I used to comfort eat to try and help me get through the day, but now I’ve learnt that I don’t need that comfort food and in fact that comfort food actually made me feel worse and more tired,  so now  I go for a  swim or a walk  not sit and eat chocolate or crisps. The time on my own at the pool and the exercise does me so much good, I come back happy, chilled and ready to start all over again. The result of a happier chilled Mum is four happier children, so no way ever will I go back to my comfort eating, and it’s going to be exercise all the way.

Oh I just have to mention this in my blog, I am a huge life long Pompey fan that’s why I listen to the Quay and today Sunday 11th April is just a fantastic day, I sat and watched the match with the boys and some other family members, and I tell you what my heart was racing and I was so hyper I’m really hoping it’ll help with my weight loss this week ! we’ll soon find out..

I have a friend called Sue, who I meet up with every six weeks when she comes to groom my dogs, now she hadn’t seen me since the start of the plan, and she was so impressed with my weight loss that she has decided to do the celebrity slim diet her self, I sent her away with my book to read, and lots of tips, so what this space on her progress as well, Go for it Sue I know your reading this and I know you can do it !!! Also I’ll be putting you in the blog next week….

Ok so my weigh in and I’m pleased to say that I have lost another 4lb, again I’m so pleased, and you know what I am starting to feel sad that there is only 2 weeks left…

Week 6

So it’s been a busy week, I’ve been swimming 5 times, had a live interview at the quay which was good fun, and it was great to meet up with Debs and Gail, the big discussion is what will we wear for the final???????? Not a dress for me no way !

Not the easiest of weeks, food wise, as it was one of my boys birthdays, so we had a birthday cake, and he wanted a Chinese for his birthday tea, now if you have read my other blogs you know that this is my week point, but I’m pleased to say I didn’t cheat, which made the boys all very proud of me, even though they did gloat as they ate it…grrrr

Next came Easter, so four days off with the house full of lovely food and lots of chocolate, but again I have stuck to it, I have never been this determined before and no way was I going to throw it all way, I’ll admit it was hard, but I made sure I had lots to do, I had my niece come and stay and then lots of visitors on Easter Monday, my only problem was my cheeky 6 year old sat next to me waving his chocolate right in front of me with the biggest grin ever, he is so cheeky.

So the big weigh in, and I’m so pleased to say I have lost 4 lb this week which puts me to a 2 stone total loss, I’m so pleased to have got to that goal, it makes me feel really good.

Week 5

Ok so here we go again, I’m feeling really positive, but for some reason I’m also feeling more hungry this week, I keep having massive cravings for sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, I could so eat some right now, the funny thing is I was always a chocoholic, but I’m not craving anything like that, I am just craving savoury things, but I’m trying hard to resist, so far it’s been going on for two days, I hope it stops soon.

Phew I’m back on track and no cravings, I have had time to go swimming this week, in fact after going once, I decided to take a swim membership out, I’m hoping to fit in at least 4 swims a week,  not sure how but I’ll do it !!!!

But the big news is I have just been and bought size 14 jeans and top, and I am so hyper, this is a miracle for me, I went into next picked up 16’s….no too big, so then the 14’s I am so amazed, the lady in the changing room, was so excited for me as well, I have texted everybody on my phone, which includes my boys schools (woops)!!! I am becoming the new person I want to be, I can’t thank who ever picked me to take part in this challenge enough, I am thrilled.

So came the weigh in and this week I have lost 3 lb which puts me at a total of 24 lb, so just to go 4 lb and I’ll have reached 2 stone, which will be really exciting, I’m really hoping it will be next week, although getting through Easter weekend is going to be very testing

Week 4

This week started really well, I’ve had a really busy week with work, the children and puppy so I’ve been far to busy to think about snaking on bad food, Also my Dad bless him has been making  more salads for me, he is so good, I have a little supply of pots he brings me. I’ve stuck to my same routine all week except I now have an exercise bike to use, so I’m starting to fit in 15 minutes a day on that.

I’m starting to plan the new image, I had my hair all cut off, just need to get the colour sorted, the next thing I would love to do is get my eyes laser treated so I don’t have to wear glasses any more, I am hoping the money I am saving on not buying takeaways will eventually pay for it.

I’ve been amazed how many people have commented on my weight loss which is really encouraging, I’m so pleased it’s actually happing this time, after all the years I’ve been trying to loose weight it’s really happening, I’m now at my lightest I’ve been for probably 12 years, which is the best thing ever.

Friday evening, I let he boys have some chips from the chip shop, and you know they smelt so nice, I let them eat them in the lounge I stayed in the dinning room, and I just couldn’t sit in the same room!!

Saturday, was really hard, the weather was rubbish so we couldn’t get out, so being stuck indoors I really wanted to just keep eating things like crisps, chocolate and drink lots of tea, but I managed to get through, have to say it was a hard day, but my eldest son Thomas knew I was struggling, he threatened to hijack this blog to tell every body if I had anything bad!!!

Ok so I had my weigh in today and this weeks weight loss is 5 lb which makes 21lb loss in total, which I’m so pleased about.

Week 3

Ok so I had a brilliant start and I need to carry on and continue the good work.

It’s been fine so far this week I’m continuing to have a shake for breakfast, Lunch and am saving my Carmel snack bar for my last snack of the day, they are really good, as they are so sweet and taste like a real treat.

People are really starting to notice that am loosing weight which is fantastic, so they get to hear the story of my journey with celebrity slim, I have so many people supporting me its fantastic!

On Saturday I had my Mum round for her mothers day meal, and as she is also on a diet, so I did a really healthy meal, well, let me correct myself my dad made one of his yummy salads, you can’t beat them, nobody ever makes them as nice they are a legend in my family we fight over dads salads. I did also have a tiny bit of creamed mash potato with cheese melted on top, it was lovely, and felt I dissevered it.

So its mothers day this weekend, I normally get lots of yummy chocolate, but not this year, instead they have got me a beautiful Blue border collie puppy she’s 8 weeks old, so not only have they helped with the calorie intake, but I’m going to be so busy house training and looking after her, I won’t have time to think about bad food, roll on 4 weeks time and I’ll be able to start walking her with the other dogs.

Ok so it’s the big weigh in and the results of my second weigh in is that I have lost another 3 lb, so its 16lb loss so far and they measured me and I have lost 14cm from my waist, which I’m really pleased about.

Week 2

Ok so my second week has started, still got to wait for my first weigh in, can’t wait. I’ll be honest, I’m not hungry at all, my problem is just the though of Chinese, chips and chocolate, I know I don’t need it but I  really crave it. On a good note, I’ve got my supply of caffeine free coke, and its helping me get through the sweet craving.

First half of the weeks been great no problems, no slip ups, I’ve kept my sweet tooth at bay, sugar free chewing gum is helping me. I’ve realised I know I’m not hungry it is just a really bad habit, that I hope these 8 weeks will cure, and train my self that I don’t need huge dinners or sweets after tea while I’m watching TV, actually writing the blogs and keeping up with all my fellow slimmer’s on face book is taking up my time in the evenings so takes my mind of the children’s sweets,( that are just a few steps away from me………)

I’ve done my first interview with quay radio, I didn’t listen to the end result! But I’m told it sounded fine, but then a Mum would say that !

So comes the days off Friday, Saturday and Sunday with no work, I think I’ll spend the weekend spring cleaning, I really have to keep as busy as I can, keep my mind of food.

Woop woop what a Saturday, well done to Pompey I’m so pleased we got through to the FA Cup semi finals and to be going to Wembley again is fantastic, it really made my weekend, I didn’t even have a cider to celebrate, or munchies whilst watching it which is very good for me, I would normally.

Umm I suppose I’d better make my weekly confession, yep I was a tiny bit bad again, I had a few chips from the chippy, with the rest of the family, but where as I would normally eat a whole portion I didn’t I did only have a few and was full, also I didn’t really enjoy them that much, was it the guilt? Or was it my body telling me off?

Ok first weigh in result is here….I’m really pleased, after 13 days on the celebrity slim diet I have lost a huge 13lb !!!!!!(that’s with two cheats) I’m so pleased, this result means I’ll have the inspiration to carry on, I’m now hoping I can get down to my pre children weight, if I can do that I’ll be so happy, and it’ll be just in time for me to go and see Pompey win the FA cup.

Week 1

Week 1

Ok just home from my first meeting with the celebrity slim guys, ok  so I’m thinking, am I mad, why did I do this??? I only entered as a laugh with some people in an office I was working in, and never expected to win!

So I’m in shock having been told, I’m not allowed my normal 2 litres of coke a day, and 6 large mugs of tea….. Instead 2 litres of water.

Its now time for a last binge of nice yummy food…for me it involves a nice chocolate bar and a glass of coke.

I‘ve just told my family and friends on face book, and they have all been really supportive, even my eldest son Thomas, has been nice (very strange)

Now its time to tackle a grocery shop on line, it’ll be very different this week, my fridge will be full of fruit and veggies

Day 1

Started with a banana shake, it was nicer than expected, and a pint of water, it would normally be a huge mug of tea and some digestive biscuits, then another mug of tea! the rest of the day went well, I even cooked the boys tea with out, pinching even one chip, boy it was tough, but on the subject of the boys they have been great, they are keeping beady eyes on me making sure I don’t touch the sweetie stash ( see the photo) Also I hope you’ll all be pleased with me I’ve only had one glass of diet coke today and no tea!! So day one has gone well!  But I have to admit I feel rubbish, it started at 5pm, with a bad head ache freezing cold and really tired, and hope I feel better tomorrow

Day 2

Woke up with the bad head, but drank 2 litres of water by lunch time, had a shake and snack and felt back to normal, then as the day went on I am starting to feel great, not hungry and am full of energy, not at all tired, I’d normally be sleepy by now, so I even had the energy for some exercises tonight, hope I feel this good tomorrow, if I do it will really help me stick to it.

I have had so much support from different work places, the staff  have all been great, my Mums also started a diet, she’s going to stick to it for the full 8 weeks with me, and we’re going to go swimming together…she’ll keep me on the straight and narrow!

The rest of the week

I haven’t talked about every day as after day 2 its been pretty much the same, that is until the hardest part for me…… the weekend is here this is going to be tough, not looking forward to it, If I stick to the diet over the weekend it’ll be a miracle.

Yep it was tough, I have missed treats so much, no munchies while watching a film, although I will admit to one very naughty treat….I had a tiny bit of beef chow mien, I just couldn’t resist, but it was only a tiny bit and I felt stuffed and very guilty, but its put me back on the straight and narrow. I’m really looking forward to my food collection so  I get to pick the flavours I like, think its going to be banana, strawberry and chocolate, oh and of course the caramel snack bars.

So my first week has gone well, and I’m really pleased with how well I’ve coped, role on next week and my weigh in.

Well here we go with the Celebrity Slim 8 Week challenge. I’ll be updating my blog and letting you know all about it!
